HomeCare & Hospice Foundation Celebrates Bouquet Sale Fundraiser

The HomeCare & Hospice Foundation is thrilled to celebrate the success of its annual bouquet sale fundraiser, which once again brought the community together to support compassionate hospice care. This year, a total of 882 18-stem bouquets and 80 9-stem bouquets were sold, raising critical funds to support patients and families in our region.

Sales were strong across the Foundation’s service areas, with the northern region (Genesee and Wyoming Counties) contributing 516 18-stem and 30 9-stem bouquets, and the southern region (Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties) contributing 366 18-stem and 50 9-stem bouquets. Pre-sale orders included 53 companies and individuals, demonstrating sustained community engagement and commitment to the cause.

Special recognition goes to Sandy Pirdy of Wyoming County, who led pre-sales with an impressive 115 bouquets sold—building on her success from previous years. In the southern region, Fox Financial of Olean made a notable impact, selling 45 bouquets and showing the power of local business support.

Pop-up sales were held at nine locations, staffed by a dedicated team of 51 volunteers and staff—15 in the north and 36 in the south—who ensured smooth operations and a welcoming experience for every purchaser.

“Our bouquet sale is always a special opportunity to see our community rally around hospice care,” said Melissa Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of HomeCare & Hospice. “Even with a slightly smaller number of bouquets this year, the generosity, dedication, and heart behind every purchase made this our most meaningful sale yet. Every bouquet sold reflects the love and care our staff bring to families every day.”

The bouquets are more than flowers—they are a symbol of the impact hospice care has on the communities we serve. One volunteer shared, “When people see the bouquets and connect with us at the pop-ups, it often sparks a story about how hospice touched their lives. Those moments remind us why we do this work.”

Next up for the Foundation’s events are Wednesday, May 13 – Hospice Hope: Walk, Run, Bike Together in Olean and Tuesday, June 23 – Hospice Golf Classic in Batavia. For more information, please call 716-372-2106, visit homecare-hospice.org, or email myanetsko@homecare-hospice.org.
