About Us
1971: several community members decided to create a program that would give dependent elderly people another option besides living in a nursing home. With their help, Olean Homemaker Services was created.
1979: The organization hired it's first registered nurse.
1989: Agency expanded its service area, its name changed to Home Health Care of Southwestern New York.
1990: On April 26, 1990, state approved the need for Comstock Hospice Care Network. Grant given to begin the hospice.1991: Creation of the Medicare certified Hospice program, Comstock Hospice Care Network.
1992: First hospice patient was admitted on January 7th in Allegany County. January 8th, first Catt Co. hospice patient admitted.
2000: Hospice Family Care, based in Batavia and Wyoming Area Homemaker Service based in Warsaw, consolidated their services with Home Health Care of Southwestern New York and Comstock Hospice Care Network to form HomeCare & Hospice. (Merge occurred on March 24, 2000).
Hospice Services
Our hospice program provides medical care and emotional support for patients and their families coping with a terminal illness. The focus is on quality of life.
Palliative Care Program
Comfort Partners is a palliative care program provided by HomeCare & Hospice.
Home Care Services
Our licensed home care program allows patients with short-term needs or chronic conditions to remain in their own homes.
Nursing Home Program
The program offers comprehensive care, provided by an interdisciplinary team, for patients living with chronic, often progressive illness and their families.
